A real market.
Real customers. Real skills.
Made possible by children.

Entrepreneurship that truly changes the world doesn’t start with the question “How much will I earn?” It starts with “What problem can I solve? What can I create that will make someone happy, and that I can profit from too?”

Kids Markets

Kids Markets is not just an event. It is a national movement building a generation of young people with an entrepreneurial spirit, social skills, and values focused on creating value for others and for themselves.

We give children aged 5 to 18 the chance to build their own small businesses for a day. From bracelets and toys to booklets and services, children sell what they create while developing real business and social skills. Our goal is to reach every child in Bulgaria, to give every child the chance to stand behind a stand, look a customer in the eye, and say: “I made this myself, I hope it’s useful to you and that you like it.” Because in today’s digital world, social skills and original, valuable products are falling further and further behind. Creating. Talking to people. Listening. Persuading. Handling rejection. Building trust. Making your own decisions. These are skills no algorithm can replace, and right here, at the market, children learn and practice them in real time.

Frequently Asked Questions

And if you’re still wondering…

Why take part in Kids Markets?
Kids Markets is one of the few places where your child will learn lessons no textbook teaches: how to take initiative, how to turn an idea into something of value, and how to communicate with real people. In today’s digital world, social skills are falling further and further behind. Here children learn them in real time, with real customers, real money, and gain real self-confidence.
What is the goal of the kids market?
The world needs entrepreneurs with values now more than ever: people who love people. Not just those who think about profit, but those who ask themselves every morning: how can I make someone’s life better today, in a way that helps me too?
They are a necessity. From the small business, from the person who repairs your home, to the person who creates technology that cures diseases. From the baker who knows your name, to the engineer and builder who designs and builds your home conscientiously. From the teacher who sparks something in a child, to the entrepreneur who solves a problem others don’t yet know exists.
People who create value for others (not just for themselves) — these are the entrepreneurs the world needs.
And they aren’t born that way. They are built. With every idea they had the courage to bring to life. With every customer they looked in the eye. With every “no” that didn’t stop them.
Kids Markets is where it begins.
Who can take part?
Children aged 5 to 18, individually or as a team/class. Children must be able to serve customers, accept payments, and give change on their own. Children with special needs may take part with the necessary help from a parent — please let us know at registration.
What can be sold?
Only products made by the children themselves, such as handmade items, bracelets, paintings, booklets, old toys and clothes, and services such as hair braiding and similar. The maximum price of an item is 5 euros. Food, animals, charity campaigns, network marketing, or products made by parents are not allowed.
How can a class or school get involved?
You have two options. The first is to organize your own market in the schoolyard: we provide the rules and support. The second is to join a market we organize in a city. In both cases registration is mandatory.
How do you get to the final?
You take part in at least one market during the year, name a winner from your market, and submit a 60-second video short in which the child presents their business idea: what they sell, why they chose it, and what value it brings. The final is on November 29, 2026.
Can participation be for a shared cause for the class?
Yes, and that’s one of the best parts of Kids Markets. The funds raised can go toward a trip, a visit to a museum or theater, something the class needs, or a donation to a charitable cause chosen by the children. The children decide for themselves, and it teaches them to think about the common good.
Do we need to make something special before the market?
If you’re organizing your own market as a school, you make a sign that says “Kids Market,” which can be made by the children themselves. You also send photos and video from the event and a report within 7 days after the market. You post the materials in our Facebook group or send them to us for posting.
How do we register?
Registration is online, in advance, and mandatory. There is no waiting list and registration cannot be transferred. For questions: otvorenchas@gmail.com or the campaign’s Facebook group.

Why do we need your support?

We live in the age of artificial intelligence, automation, and technological change unlike anything seen before. In this age, one of the most important questions of our time is being asked:

What kind of people will run these technologies — and what will they use them for?

In an age of greed — in a world where technology is increasingly used for control, manipulation, and the accumulation of power in the hands of a few — we need something different. We need entrepreneurs who think about people. Who create products that make life better. Who understand that the greatest reward isn’t profit and power, but the positive change you leave behind..

In the age of artificial intelligence, entrepreneurs with values are not a luxury. They are an absolute necessity. Because technology in itself is neither good nor bad — it is a mirror of the people who create and control it. And if we want a world where technology serves people, not the other way around, we have to start with children.
Not with lectures. But with real experience.
